Secrets Cap Cana

Beach lovers will be in heaven at Secrets Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. Only 20 minutes from the Punta Cana Airport, this luxury resort is a favorite of Secrets Resorts fans.

Secrets Cap Cana Amenities

As I stepped out of the vehicle from the airport, I was immediately impressed by the gorgeous stone lobby with a shallow pool down the middle and small foot bridges to cross over. At the end of the lobby, one overlooks the resort spread out below with the row of restaurants to one side, the enormous main pool in front, and the showroom and convention center to the other side.

The resort staff is gracious and smiling all the time. Every room is considered a suite. Oceanview rooms, swim-out rooms, Preferred Club rooms, garden view rooms, and pool view rooms are all available in various price ranges – something to suit every wish and budget. Rooms have huge walk-in showers, spacious balconies, and a small fridge filled with beverages included. Room service is free and contactless. I had breakfast each day through room service. All I had to do was order on the “tablet” bedside, which connects to various departments in the resort such as the front desk, housekeeping, bellmen and of course room service. I ordered from the menu without talking to anyone. And 30-40 minutes later, my food was delivered to a private box with a door on the outside of the room and another door inside the room, I opened and voila, the food and beverages too – coffee, orange juice, champagne. Luxury living and it’s all included.

Juanillo Beach

Beyond the pool lined with palm trees and tropical foliage is Juanillo Beach, one of the best beaches in the world and is truly quite amazing. The beach is dotted with swaying palm trees, and thatched roof palapas. It is so relaxing lying on a chaise lounge underneath the shade, I fell asleep. It is hard to describe how good it feels when you awake from a nap refreshed by the warm tropical breeze.

Dining At Secrets Cap Cana

Another sensory experience, and one your taste buds will enjoy, is the mid-day lunch served on the beach. The resort chefs fire up a half-barrel charcoal grill. Each day, the chef’s selection becomes quite a mouthwatering spectacle as resort guests stroll over to see what’s on the menu. Perhaps it will be grilled lobsters or spice-rubbed steak or maybe barbecue chicken, or juicy hamburgers, and savory sausages, but whatever it is you won’t go hungry. There are lots of side salads as well. Beverages are also served. My choice is the local beer, Presidente. So grab a red-checkered draped table, take off your sandals, let your feet bathe in the warm sand, and take your time. No reason to hurry. You’re on vacation at Secrets Cap Cana on Juanillo Beach in the Dominican Republic.
